According to the North Carolina Medical Board there are 35,000 doctors and physician assistants licensed in our state. Of those 2,618 had made at least one medical malpractice payment from 2000 to 2009. While 308 had two or more payments, 83 had three or more and 14 had five or more payments in the same time frame.
